living a hygge life

Why Hygge?

For me, hygge is about contentment, simplicity, functionalism, with a touch of coziness.

So how does a hygge philosophy translate to style, whether a tote bag or dining linens?

It’s all about your everyday simple moments and making each one of those moments special.

I sew accessories for both personal style (day bags and totes) as well as a clean style with a minimalism touch for the home (napkins, tea towels, designer pillow cases). Your morning cup of coffee sipped with a hand sewn, natural-dyed napkin or a European-style day bag in a gorgeous cotton canvas adds style to your weekly visit to the farmer’s market or day trip to your favorite beach village.

Quality fabric is the foundation. I love working with all-natural fabrics like cotton canvas, linens, and chambray. My current absolute favorite lining or trim (for bags as well as pillows) is classic striped cotton ticking, a classic that my grandmother worked with and that really adds a French-European flair. These are more expensive, and often it’s difficult to find the colors I love so I dedicate a lot of time to researching fabrics. I sew every product that you see on my website.
